Independent Banker, the award-winning magazine of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) and the leading source for community banking news, has honored First Bank of the Lake as a top lender in its July 2024 issue. First Bank of the Lake proudly secured the number one position in commercial lending for banks with assets ranging from $300 million to $1 billion, due to its unwavering dedication to supporting small business lending nationwide. The bank achieved the highest lender score of 99.5 out of 100 among all recognized banks across various categories.

“Community banks are pillars of their communities and work hard every day to serve the unique needs of their customers,” said ICBA President and CEO Rebeca Romero Rainey. “These top lenders should take pride in this recognition, knowing that their work makes a positive impact in helping their communities flourish.”

The July issue of Independent Banker showcases how top-performing agriculture, commercial, consumer, and mortgage loan producers are navigating the evolving economic environment while effectively meeting their customers' needs. This year's standout performers have demonstrated remarkable flexibility and ingenuity.

"At First Bank of the Lake, we're committed to offering exceptional financial solutions to small businesses in the United States with a customer-first mindset," said Mike Anderson, Chairman, President, and CEO of First Bank of the Lake. "Being recognized on this prestigious list is a tremendous honor, and I couldn’t be prouder of our team's dedication to supporting small borrowers throughout the past year."

The annual ICBA rankings are determined by assessing the strength of competitive banking services and operational efficiencies, utilizing FDIC data from 2023. The scores are calculated by averaging the bank’s percentile rank for lending concentration and loan growth over the past year in each lending category and asset size.
